Business Insider names Houston best city in America
On the heels of The Atlantic digging into the secret behind the Bayou City’s booming job growth, Business Insider has compiled a list of the “17 Reasons Why Houston Is the Best City In America.” The list starts off with various economic factors: low unemployment rate, healthy housing market and large paycheck adjusted for cost of living. Business Insider highlights a number of the city’s industries — not just energy, but also health care and even the space sector. The publication also recognizes the city for its massive amount of international trade and some factors driving that.
Rice University and the University of Houston received a hat tip for contributing to Houston having a “bunch of smart people around.” And no list of Houston’s attributes would be complete without mentioning the city’s coolest aspects, including its culinary scene, “world class and unique museums and cultural landmarks,” parks and winning sports teams (minus the Astros).
