Academy Sports + Outdoors grows in Rio Grande Valley

[Houston, TX] – December 20, 2023 – Tarantino Properties finalized and executed the lease with Academy Sports + Outdoors on March 31, 2023, for a build-to-suit from ground up lease for a 58,860 SF store at Harlingen Corners in Harlingen, TX. The store design is modern and impressive, with the property being built and opened within 7 months. Grand opening was November 14, 2023, and had a higher-than-expected customer count for the opening. The store brings new traffic to this already successful 228,000 SF power center that services the Rio Grande Valley MSA. Peggy Rougeou, with Tarantino Properties, executed the net lease, and Ken Espensen, and Scott Espensen, Commercial Realty, Inc. represented Academy Sports + Outdoors.
